Women’s Asian Boxing Championships was successfully held in Mongolia from May 19 until May 25, 2012. The tournament was organized in the Buyant-Ukhaa Sport palace, totally 90 boxers participated from 17 countries.Women boxers competed in 10 weight categories and 4 Mongolian boxers have qualified for the final stage. In the flyweight (45kg) T.Bolortuul and lightweight (60kg) J.Uyanga won gold medal in a major tournament and they have got rights to compete in the Women’s World Boxing Championships in Qinhuangdao, China.
President of the World Boxing Union visited during Women’s World Boxing Championships in Mongolia.
Chinese team got 5 gold medals and ranked in the first place, the second place Indian team got 3 gold medals and the third place Mongolian team got 2 gold medals. It was good challenge for boxers before World Boxing Championships which will be held in Qinhuangdao, China from May 9 to May 20, 2012 and London 2012 Olympic Games.
